30-Day Harry Potter Challenge: Day 06

Your favourite male character and why.

(Spoilers)

Ever since Prisoner of Azkaban came out, Remus Lupin has been my favourite character. He's just incredible. I can't describe the love I have for him. He was turned into a werewolf at such a young but he was one of the most caring characters in the series. Sure, he pushed people away, but that was because he loved them too much to harm them. He didn't want anybody around him during the transformation because he didn't want anyone he loved, or anyone at all, to get hurt because of him. He was the best Defence Against the Dark Arts professor Harry ever had. He helped Harry create a Patronus. He did so much for Harry because he wanted to protect his friend's son, and in turn, he became a father figure to Harry. I was incredibly upset when he died:
As Ginny and Hermione moved closer to the rest of the family, Harry had a clear view of the bodies lying next to Fred: Remus and Tonks, pale and still and peaceful-looking, apparently asleep beneath the dark, enchanted ceiling.
He didn't even get a death scene. I threw my book when I came across this. Can you blame me? It's always upsetting when one's favourite character dies.
I like to think that he was killed while trying to protect Tonks. That Tonks ran all around the castle looking for him, and when she finally found him and joined him in battle, he yelled at her to run and hide, because he wanted her to be safe, if not for him, for his son, which gave Dolohov a chance to cast the Killing Curse.

RIP, Professor.
